Project management timeline estimator
Set a start date and a few project characteristics to get a realistic, stage-gated concept-to-production schedule — phase by phase, with a target launch date. Tooling, regulatory review, and prototype iterations are factored in the way they actually move a program.

How the timeline is built
The estimator walks a standard stage-gate path — discovery, concept, detailed design, prototype & test, verification & validation, tooling, pilot, and production launch. Each phase carries a baseline duration for a moderate-complexity product, scaled by your complexity factor (0.7× to 1.8×). Prototype & test multiplies by the number of build–test–refine loops, and the options add the time that tooling, certification, regulatory review, and overseas transfer realistically take.
Phases are modeled sequentially, which is conservative — a well-run program overlaps work to compress the schedule. That overlap, and the de-risking that protects your launch date, is exactly where hands-on project management earns its keep. Use this as a planning baseline, not a commitment.
